"He's up against the wall": Olivier Faure puts pressure on Sébastien Lecornu

At the Fête de l'Humanité this Saturday, September 13, the debates were lively, particularly on the political situation in France. After several hours of discussions, Olivier Faure spoke to the press, stating that Sébastien Lecornu "has his back to the wall."
"I don't know what Sébastien Lecornu's name is anymore. He said he wanted breaks. Let him say which ones," explains the First Secretary of the Socialist Party.
"We have all presented our counter-projects. It is therefore necessary for him to say today what he is prepared to break with from the eight years he spent in Emmanuel Macron's government," adds Olivier Faure.
The First Secretary of the Socialist Party , who wants to see a left-wing Prime Minister in government, knows that he and his party are in a strong position to negotiate non-censorship.
On September 10, Sébastien Lecornu chaired his first crisis meeting, the day after his appointment. He stated at the time: "We're going to need changes. And not just in form, and not just in method, but also in substance."
The Socialist Party is therefore waiting to discover the substance of these ruptures, which will be decisive for the future of the new Prime Minister. "If he demonstrates this, he may gain popular support. If he doesn't, he will be powerfully rejected, as François Bayrou was," says Olivier Faure.
